There comes a time in a young, growing family’s life when a minivan becomes a necessity. We say, embrace that time. The driving is easy, the comfort is divine, the convenience is surprising, and have we mentioned the cargo room? Leave the kids with a sitter and stroll right over to the Chrysler Pacifica. This is where the living is easy. In this preview guide, we tell you what’s new for the 2020 model and why the Pacifica just makes a world of sense.
What’s New This Year?
The six trim levels have been streamlined to just four: Touring, Touring L, Touring L Plus, and Limited. Not to worry, nothing is really going away. Just choose the trim level that has what you need and check the boxes for the options you want to add. Better still, some previous options have become standard features this year, but more on that later.
There are a few cosmetic changes to the interior this year, and there’s the Red S Appearance package to make your minivan unique - busy parents on the go deserve some refinement, class, and fun too. This package includes an exclusive interior, 20-inch wheels, Advanced SafetyTec technologies, 20-speaker Harman-Kardon audio system with Uconnect theater setup, eight-passenger seating, and tow package. If you’re getting a Pacifica Hybrid, this package adds a tri-pane panoramic sunroof and swaps the 20s for 19-inch wheels.
The Pacifica Hybrid
If you’ve never driven something this big and you’re worried about the gas mileage, let us put your mind at ease. You can buy the Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid and really boost your fuel economy. We know what you’re thinking. A hybrid minivan? We live in an age of wonders. What can the Pacifica Hybrid do for you? First of all, when fully charged, the hybrid model has an all-electric range of 33 miles. That means this Pacifica model doesn’t even touch the fuel in your tank until it’s traveled that far. After that, the 2020 Pacifica Hybrid gets 30 miles per gallon, as it stores kinetic energy while you drive and uses it to boost your fuel economy numbers. That’s a marked improvement over the 19 city miles and 28 highway miles per gallon of the conventional Pacifica. So go green and get a minivan in the same breath.
Staggering Number of Features
The 2020 Pacifica has a treasure trove of features on offer here. The base Pacifica Touring comes standard with the Uconnect infotainment system, 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB port, six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, rearview camera, eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, tri-zone automatic climate control, remote start, and alloy wheels. And we’re just getting started. By the time you get to the Pacifica Limited, you have a chariot fit for a royal family.
