The 2020 Ram 2500 and Nissan Titan XD blend hefty power with modern comfort. Before you decide which truck you’ll be driving home, check out Coleman Chevrolet’s comparison guide.
More for Your Money: 2020 Ram 2500
The Titan XD is more powerful than a full-size truck, but it’s not as capable as heavy-duty models. The Ram 2500, on the other hand, is classified as a heavy-duty truck, making it the more capable pickup. At the same time, the Ram is also a much better deal, delivering major muscle starting at just $33,895. The Titan XD costs thousands more, with an MSRP starting at $44,580.
Classy Interior: It’s a Tie!
Inside, both the Ram 2500 and the Nissan Titan XD treat you to classy cabin materials and a handsome fit and finish. These trucks might be designed to work, but both also offer high-end creature comforts, including soft leather upholstery and seat heaters. Infotainment features are also in abundance. Both trucks prominently feature touch screens and complete smartphone integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Raw Power: 2020 Ram 2500
The Nissan Titan XD might be more powerful than a full-size truck, but it doesn’t give you as much power as the heavy-duty Ram 2500.
The Ram offers two engines, so you can tailor your ride to suit your towing or hauling needs. To haul impressive payloads, Ram’s 6.4-liter HEMI V8 supplies 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. For maximum towing, look to the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel inline-six turbodiesel engine. It makes up to 400 horses and 1,000 pound-feet of torque.
Back on the Titan XD, there’s only one engine option. Its gasoline-powered 5.6-liter V8 makes 400 horses and 413 pound-feet of torque. Depending on your workday, it simply might not be enough.
Hefty Performance: 2020 Ram 2500
Unsurprisingly, the Ram 2500 also tows and hauls bigger payloads than the Titan XD. Properly equipped, this heavy-duty truck can tow up to 19,780 pounds. Its hauling capabilities are equally impressive, maxing out at payloads of 4,010 pounds.
Equipped with a gooseneck setup, the Titan XD can tow up to 11,040 pounds. That’s pretty impressive, but some heavy-duty drivers may need more muscle. Properly equipped, this pickup truck can haul payloads weighing up to 2,240 pounds.
There’s a lot to like about the 2020 Nissan Titan XD, but the heavy-duty 2020 Ram 2500 delivers more muscle at a better price. To see what we mean, visit us at Coleman Chevrolet in New Boston and test-drive it for yourself!
