Highlights
The 2023 Dodge Challenger is predicted to be a quick refresh to wind down the series before Dodge goes electric in 2024. It can seat 4 adults with a comfortable interior and offers a powerful V-8 engine. Let’s break it down with what we think 2023 will bring.
Trims
Based on the trims for the 2022 Dodge Challenger, we theorize the 2023 release will include the following with a price range between $30,000-80,000.
- SXT
- GT
- R/T
- R/T Scat Pack
- SRT Hellcat
Power
Since we don’t expect much to change in this department, we can report that the base engine of the 2023 Dodge Challenger is a 3.6-liter V-6 that, until we’re told otherwise, produces 303 horsepower. It has available all-wheel drive and gets about 19/30 mpg. The mid-level trims offer a 5.7-liter or 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 that get 16/25 mpg and 15/24 mpg respectively. The Hellcat engine may see its final year for 2023 as rumors of an electric powertrain grow. It is a 6.2-liter V-8 that produces 717-807 hp and reportedly gets 26 mpg on the highway. While the 2023 Dodge Challenger is rather bulky, it is fairly composed on winding roads.
Interior
The 2023 Dodge Challenger will likely carry over its decently quiet cabin and cushioned seats from 2022 but we hope some interior features like dual-zone climate control and heated/ventilated seats will be made standard. Cargo volume is measured at 16.2 cubic feet and it offers 3 seats in the back row (not for all sizes).
Tech
We hope the 2023 Dodge Challenger will make some of the current technology features standard or add more onto the 2022 features:
- Apple carplay/Android auto
- Uconnect software
- Responsive infotainment system
- Optional Alpine audio system
Safety
With some low visibility issues in the 2022 Dodge Challenger, we hope that 2023 will see some safety features made standard or add a high-clarity rear view camera.
- Available blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert
- Available adaptive cruise control
- Available automatic high beams
Conclusion
While Dodge may be wrapping things up for the V-8 Challenger that we’re so familiar with, we’re eager to see a refresh for the 2023 Dodge Challenger. Whether there’s some updates in the driver-assist department or some updated specs, stay tuned as we approach the release date.
